Basic elements of dance will be stressed in this 40 minute session.
The use of Space,
Time, and Energy will be demonstrated by performing excerpts from famous
ballets (Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Peter and the Wolf for example).
Students will see how locomotor and non-locomotor movements can be
combined with the 3 Elements of Dance and the use of emotion to create
choreography. At the end of the performance, a verbal review of content
done.
7-12
This program builds upon the elements of dance and introduction of
locomotor / non-locomotor movement of Program I. It will broaden students’ capacity to compare and
contrast dance styles. It
will also provide students a more informed knowledge base for dance
review. At the end of the
performance, a verbal review of content done.
